Interference is a 60-page editorial project created while studying Communication Design at Parsons. The issue brings together writing and visual material about attention, distraction, and technology.

A system for different kinds of reading

The layout balances article openings with dense, two-column reading pages. A recurring set of rules, captions, and text styles connects material with very different visual rhythms.

The opening spreads make the subjects explicit. Inside the issue, long-form text alternates with larger image sequences and shorter changes in pace.

What is shown here

These images are exports from the original 2016 PDF. My contribution is the publication design and typography. The included writing, photographs, and artworks retain their credits within the pages.
