About the project

GridType is an interactive type project created for my BFA thesis at Parsons. It treats the structure of a letter as something that can be varied and explored.

A modular alphabet

The letterforms are built from a small vocabulary of bars, squares, and rounded corners. The interface presents Static, Width, X-height, Random, and All settings, making those dimensions part of the type experiment.
